     green onions, chopped
- Sesame

     seaweed (optional, for garnish)
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Rice Cakes (Tteok):
- In a
     mixing bowl, combine sweet rice flour, water, and salt. Mix until smooth.
- Transfer
     the mixture to a heatproof dish or a shallow pan.
- Steam
     the mixture for about 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes
     out clean.
- Once
     cooked, let it cool slightly, then cut into bite-sized pieces.
2. Make the Tteokbokki Sauce:
- In a
     bowl, mix together gochujang, soy sauce, sugar, corn syrup or rice syrup,
     and gochugaru. Set aside.
- In a
     saucepan, heat vegetable oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and
     grated ginger. Sauté until fragrant.
- Add
     the prepared sauce mixture and 2 cups of water. Bring to a simmer,
     stirring constantly until the sauce thickens.
3. Assemble Tteokbokki:
- Add
     the sliced rice cakes (tteok) to the simmering sauce.
- If
     using, add fish cakes and hard-boiled eggs.
- Cook
     over medium heat, stirring gently, until the rice cakes are fully coated
     and the sauce thickens, about 10-15 minutes.
4. Garnish and Serve:
- Garnish
     with chopped green onions, sesame seeds, and roasted seaweed if desired.
5. Enjoy:
- Serve
     your homemade Tteokbokki hot and enjoy this flavorful and spicy Korean
